Tāmaki Makaurau's pop prince

Tāmaki Makaurau born and raised, Tyrun is an artist and creative who's made it his mission to create blaze a trail for his people with his voice and his music - “to make music for your ears, eyes and heart.” — The Coconet TV

As a proud queer person of Niuean and Samoan descent, Tyrun's music hits right at the intersections of being a kid of the diaspora, a young queer person finding community, and a boy in love. From self-love to family, to friendship, to love and lust, to fun and getting f*cked off, his music is a representation of all that he experiences in life. A diary of the person he's growing to be, shared in real time. A hopeless romantic, thematically he writes with love at his core - Tyrun shares that he wears his heart on his sleeve through his songwriting, viewing tracks like "Chemistry" as a confidence booster because “self-love is still love.” — Recorded Music NZ.

2026 saw the release of his debut EP, Fall In Love Again, taking audiences into world of his Niuean heritage by infusing Vagahau Niue (the native language of Niue, his fathers home) into his pop music. A love letter to those who find it hard to recconect back to their own culture/language after being disconectted from it - Learning that Vagahau Niue is a dying language inspired him to contribute naturally to the conversation. He admits it was challenging to build the confidence to sing and pronounce the words proudly in modern pop — TP+ & RNZ

With new music on the horizon, Tyrun continues his mission to pave a way for young, queer and pasifika artists to find their own confidence, and a way into their own limelight.

ALL MY FRIENDS

A love letter to our communities

Tyrun is co-director of All My Friends (AMF), an Asian and Pasifika-led creative collective based in Tāmaki Makaurau. AMF connects communities through creativity, platforming LGBTQIA+ and BIPOC creatives who often don’t get access to larger projects, and creating more inclusive spaces for them to be seen.
